Namibia Training Authority (NTA) hosted an award ceremony at RVTC to award top performing staff members at the Centre on 07/07/22. The Centre’s Welfare committee organized the event which was officiated by NTA’s acting COO Mr. Tobias Nambala and GM HR Ms. Julia Muetudhana. Also present at the event were Mrs. Lahya Andreas Manager for Talent Management and Mrs. Sailon Ipinge the Organizational Development Officer all from the Head Office.
A total number of 36 staff members received the awards which were in two categories. The first were Certificate of Performance of Achievement which was followed by the Departmental Top Performers. The last award came with a Certificate and a trophy. All four departments saw one staff scooping an award.
Welcoming the delegates RVTC Centre Manager Kornelius Lukas gave the previews of the previous events. In his statement, Lukas stated the Centre’s desire to expand horizontal and training up to Level 6. Lukas continued praising the Centre for its achievements. “I would like to inform you that we are the first Centre to have an electronic brochure which has been shared through our various media platforms. Now you understand why we are the sought after VTC. In conclusion; I would like to address those staff who will not get any award and say that do not lose hope as this is not the end of everything and there will be many more opportunities coming your way to prove your mettle” Concluded Lukas.
Addressing the staff was the GM for HR Ms. Julia Muetudhana. Julia gave the introduction of the non –monetary awards where she explained that the monetary awards will still becoming. “We all know the situation the country finds itself in due to COVID and war in Russia. But at least, the board approved the non–monetary awards, to thank you, to appreciate you, to honor you and encourage you to do more” added Julia.
The Acting CEO speech which was read on his behalf by the Acting COO Tobias Nambala encouraged the staff to continue working hard. Nambala who started the remarks by encouraging and reminding the staff members to continue observing COVID protocols reminded the staff about their obligations. TVET was never missed in his speech as he applauded the Centre on the previous events which were hosted. “Prior research shows that there is problem with job satisfaction, how satisfied and how happy you are at work influences your performance” added the statement.
Departmental top performers were scooped by: Mr. Mike Naiteta from the CM’s Office, Mr. Shadrick Ntema from Admin Department, Mr. Bruce Gwala from Trainee Support Department and Mr. Ferdinand Malwa from Training Department.
“Succeeding in life is as simple as being a good staff. All you have to do is pay attention, work hard, and give it the best shot.”
