Both learners and teachers were happy to hear that RVTC has been offering training in agriculture. Horticulture got the attention of the majority as food security has become the talk of the nation.

More questions were asked on various trades in regards to job security. RVTC Liaison Officer Milton Mwiya informed the learners that Vocational Education should be a choice not an option. “Let’s not opt for TVET just because you didn’t qualify to other institutions, it should be a choice” added Mwiya. He further said institutions of higher learning are not competing against each other but complement each other. “We need bricklayers to build our hospitals and other infrastructures, mechanic to maintain our cars and so on” Mwiya continued.

Rundu VTC has expanded vertically and horizontally on training. The introduction of Agriculture courses was aimed to boost food security in the country. RVTC is open for full time as well as RPL training to all citizens. As a national hub, the Centre encourages more young people from the region to apply for technical training at RVTC.
