Rundu Vocational Training Centre (RVTC) hosted its 9th graduation which saw 507 graduates confirmed as qualified artisans and administrators in various trades on the 06th of October 2022. The last graduation the Centre had was in 2019 which resulted to the similar ceremony stall due to COVID19 pandemic. The graduation included those who studied on full time as well as those for RPL.

The Trainee Representative Council (TRC) Vice President Bernhard Samende addressed the graduates with a strong message by reminding them that Namibia is waiting for them to contribute what they were trained on. In his Valedictorian message Samende informed both parents and the graduates about the importance of TVET in our country. "The country's development relies in us who are here. The earlier we are to understand the importance of TVET in our country, the better will be for this country" added Samende. He also informed the graduates that this is not the time to relax but rather to double efforts as they are to contribute to the socio-economic development of our country.

Rundu Trade Fair Centre which hosted the event was packed to capacity as each graduate came with two parents/guardians. There was joy and happiness in the entire hall as parents were happy to witness their sons and daughters receiving their qualifications wearing their gowns. Addressing the gathering Kavango East Regional Governor Bonifatius Wakudumo encouraged the graduates to go make a difference and contribute positively to the country’s economy. “You are messengers of change, go change the status of your family, yourself and the country. Make it positive” added the Wakudumo.

The Executive Director in The Ministry of Higher Education, Training and Innovation Dr. Alfred Van Kent delivered the keynote address on behalf of the Minister. He reminded them of their long journey through training. “A graduation ceremony is an achievement that symbolizes educational change and progression as well as of moving onto new adventures.  The journey of enrolling and going through teaching and learning over the few years is associated with many ups and downs through which we grew stronger,” said the ED. He applauded Rundu VTC with the new agriculture trades that will help the country to improve food security. “Live every day in the present.  They won’t all be good days, but always put in maximum effort, even in down times” concluded the ED.

Namibia Training Authority was represented by Tengovandu Kandetu the GM for IT who was joined on the stage by RVTC’s Head of Training Ferdinand Malwa in handing over certificates to the graduates.
