Rundu Vocational Training Centre (RVTC) scooped the best cooperate award at the just ended Rundu Annual Trade Fair. The trade fair which started on the 28th of October and ended on the 05th of November 2022 saw quite a number of exhibitors showing what they have in various businesses.
For 2022 Rundu Annual Trade Fair, 113 exhibitors registered to take part in the trade fair after approximately 3 years of the event’s absence due to COVID19. Exhibitors were divided into 6 categories which are: The Ministries, Cooperates, Agriculture, Kids, Entertainment and SME. Out of 29 cooperate exhibitors who were registered and participated in the trade fair, RVTC was awarded the best cooperate stand. RVTC’s core business is training and a team of 6 staff members who were assigned to the fair gave the visitors more information on the importance of TVET.
Happy to visit the stand was Namibia’s Minister of Works and the Minister of Mashona land from Zimbabwe who emphasized on the importance of TVET in Africa. “Vocational education is the way to go for our countries. Let’s stop reliance. It helps people to create employment. We should change our mindsets” the Namibian Minister (John Mutorwa) briefed his Zimbabwean counterpart standing at RVTC stall. The two Ministers were so impressed to see the creativity of various items which were displayed at the RVTC stand.
RVTC is engaged in offering Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) training and assessment to the working class. It is during the trade fair where most of these working class got a lot of application forms. Adding on what the Centre has to offer was selling of items made by RVTC trainees under the supervision of their respective VET Trainers. Benches, tables, spinach, building trowels and many more are some of the items that were sold at the RVTC stand. RVTC thanked Rundu Town Council, Recon Namibia and other sponsors for making sure that Trade Fair was well organized and back amid COVID pandemic.
For 2023 Rundu Annual Trade Fair, RVTC plans to come stronger with more surprises to the exhibitors.
